We create post-adoption experiences that strengthen bonds, build community, and restore people.

We carry out this mission through all-expenses-paid vacations to Walt Disney World.

We host two trips a year; one for adoptive families and another for birth mothers.

We believe that even though adoption is hard and filled to the brim with loss, it is also rooted in love. We seek to serve each corner of the adoption triad (the adoptee, adoptive family, and birth family) post adoption by letting them know they are seen, supported, and loved.

What started out as an obsession for Walt Disney World and a deep desire to see every family be able to make magical memories together, took shape after Funding Love Founder, Malorie Elrod, and her husband, Tim, walked through the adoption process to bring home their fourth child. They were pleased to find that there were many organizations, grants, and support systems in place to help families navigate the emotional and financial needs of adoption on the front end.

But what happens after finalization day? What happens when last names have changed, the Honeymoon phase is over, and real life begins?

For many adoptive families, the Happily Ever After that people on the outside-looking-in assume, just isn't reality. Often, families are left to navigate how to bond as a new family unit on their own, while mounds of debt from court fees, counseling, therapy bills, new medical bills, and more, are piling up on the kitchen counter.

Who has the margin to afford a vacation to take a break from all of the pressures of everyday life and just spend some time bonding as a brand new family?

Disney World has been the place where millions of families form stronger bonds and valuable memories to last a lifetime, but for many adoptive families, the cost of that type of vacation is just out of the question.

That's where the idea of Funding Love began.

In 2018, Funding Love became an official 501c3 and we launched our Adoptive Family Program. But we were not done yet. Through the open adoption she shares with their son’s birth mother, Malorie knew that if we were going to say, “Adoption is love,” Funding Love needed to love, support, and serve all corners of the adoption triad; adoptee, adoptive family, and birth family. After two and a half years of becoming a non-profit and five successful Funding Love Vacations that served more than ten adoptive families, Funding Love launched our Birth Mom Program, with fellow adoptive mom, Katelyn Duckworth, at the helm in 2021. It sends birth mothers on all-expenses-paid vacations to meet and build community with women that share their similar, life-changing experience of adoption.

Adoption is beautiful and messy, wonderful and hard; but through it all, adoption is love. We are Funding Love.
